New Here

New Here

We are thrilled that you have decided to get to know us. We know that visiting a church for the first time can be very intimidating, and we want you to feel welcome and comfortable when you visit us.  When asked with what to expect when you visit, we always say “We hope you feel at HOME.”

Hospitality

From the time you walk in the front door, you will find that our members want nothing more than for your experience to be a joyful one.  You will be greeted with smiling faces and open arms.  There is something to be said about southern hospitality at Sweet Home because that is exactly what you will find.   Whether you are a first time visitor, or a lifelong member, you will be loved and welcomed every time you walk in the door.

On Mission

We want you to come and be our guest during our worship services but we hope that you will see that we are so much more than just our services.  We are a church that is on mission with God to impact the community and world we live in.  We always say that, “If what we do inside this building doesn’t change what happens outside this building in our community, then we are doing it wrong.”  Sweet Home is a missional church that supports local and global missions and encourages our members to live as ambassadors of the gospel at home, at work, and in the community.

Multi-Generational

You will look across our congregation and see a variety of ages all the way from Senior Adults, to Empty Nesters, to Young Married, to Youth and Infants.   Sweet Home desires to be a church where all ages are welcome and worshipping together.  In fact, we feel that a church that has all generations worshipping together models the church seen in the New Testament.  So no matter what age you are, you are welcome here.

Expository Preaching

You will find that at Sweet Home the ministry of the Word of God is the central event.  Our pastors utilize expository preaching to remain faithful to the biblical text before us.  Expository preaching is the style in which the word is read, studied to find what the original author is attempting to communicate, and applied to our lives.   The emphasis is on God’s Word and not on one man’s opinion.  This is usually done by our pastor preaching verse by verse through books of the Bible.
